In this 11 day journey we will be travelling close to 1000 kms, including the sight-seeing. We will be covering eight gorgeous districts of Arunachal Pradesh. Lower Siang, Lepa- Rada, West Siang, Shi- Yomi, East Siang, Lower Dibang Valley and Dibang Valley. Apart from the show stoppers Menchuka and Anini, our travel route weaves in glimpses of all the natural beauties along the entire trail. So when you get back home, you have stopped and stayed at the most scenic spots this route could offer. Our first stop Along or Aalo, a picturesque valley at the confluence of Sipu and Siyom River, is the head quarter of the West Siang district and the home of the Galo tribe. Our second stop is Menchuka, the Shangri-La of Arunachal Pradesh, sitting close to the Indo-Tibetan border, at an altitude of 6000 feet. The name which can be split into three syllables, Men- meaning “medicinal”, chu- meaning “water” and kha- meaning “glacier”, makes this place a land blessed by the medicinal glacial streams. Mechuka valley is the home of Memba, Ramo, Bokar, Adi and Libo tribes. Our third stop Pasighat is the head quarter of East Siang district. Situated at the eastern foothills of the Himalayas at 155 metres above mean sea level, Pasighat is Arunachal’s oldest town. Pasighat is known for its iconic indigenous hanging bridges, magnificient Siang river, natural beauty, archaeological sites, wildlife and the rich cultural heritage of the Adi tribes who live here. Our next stop is the “Orange bowl of Arunachal Pradesh” Dambuk. Every year Dambuk hosts the famous “Orange festival” in the month of December. Though we will not be able to witness the festival , it is still a lovely idea to spend one night here , in the middle of vast hectares of orange orchards. Our fifth stop Anini is the head quarter of the Dibang Valley district. Pleasant weather, immense natural beauty, lofty waterfall, vast stretches of grasslands made Anini a tourist’s paradise. Anini is home to the Idu Mishmi tribes who are culturally rooted in animistic beliefs, shamanistic rituals, and deep connection to nature. Our sixth and last stop is Roing, the district headquarter of Lower Dibang Valley district . Roing, a charming town in a valley by the side of the Dibang River, is the only commercial hub for the upper Dibang Valley district and nearby villages.
